Reflection
How does the topic you chose for this assignment relate to your SDG theme? I chose this assignment because I believe that design is an art, and art is meant to communicate different aspects of humanity. In this case, the aspect it portrays is inequality between groups of people. Why did you choose this topic, and what does it mean to you? I chose this topic because I have been very close to visual art for my entire life. I grew up drawing, coloring, and painting. Learning these foundational skills is not only important to improving my art, but to helping communicate the issues that afflict those closest to us. What tools did you use to complete this assignment? For this assignment, I used FireAlpaca and PowerPoint. The designs were all done in FireAlpaca with shape tools (and for the last one, clipping), and the presentation slides were all done in PowerPoint. I also found a template/theme for the PowerPoint online when I couldn’t find a particular theme I liked that was already in the program. What did you learn from this assignment? This assignment was a great exercise in the principles of design. By doing the principles I thought I would be less skilled in, I was able to learn their meanings and how to effectively communicate them in my works. Especially with the “Proportion” design, I was very happy with how it came out despite not wanting to complete it initially. PPT Links
